Learning methods and organization
The SMARTUP learning model emphasises the design thinking process and social constructivist approach, where people are prompted to share their experiences, work together, and take responsibility for their own learning.
The competencies will be developed during the project based learning , as students will work on their own entrepreneurial ideas while creating their business and developing implementa-tion, and follow-up plans as their final thesis.
About half of the lectures and labs are implemented as face-to-face sessions, focusing on basic studies including business cases. The other half of the courses/classes are conducted with blended learning methods, such as online studies (e.g. webinars, project work, exercises, creating business or marketing plans and business games and coaching apps).
SMARTUP Master Programme also provides three mentoring models.
one-to-many mentoring pool, consisting of experts that are available for all students when they need special expertise;
peer-to-peer mentoring between couple of students;
one-on-one mentoring, focusing on individual mentoring for a longer period.
Mentoring activities will be mainly conducted through Skype calls and emails.
The Master’s Programme is a smart cooperation effort between higher education institutes, companies, the European Crowdfunding Network, and business foundations covering a total of nine EU countries, and Stanford University.
