Milan, November 20-24 – As anticipated on our website, the SMARTUP Mentor Programme has been successfully carried out last week. Italian partner RQ was responsible for the organization of the training week, hosted at the premises of SMARTUP coordinator University of Milano Bicocca.
The 10 mentors came from Romania, Bulgaria, Portugal, Malta and Italy to attend the week-long training program. Prof Michele Coletti, Professor at MBI Grenoble Institute, has developed the training concept and led the learning process, in which future Mentors have proactively and enthusiastically participated.
The theoretical lessons were integrated by practical exercises, and Mentors also had the opportunity to meet Mr. Francesco Mantegazzini, Business Angels & Serial Startuppers, creator of the startup Expo in Milan. Mantegazzini talked about his past experience with startup entrepreneurs and highlighted the most important issues that he has identified while working with them, offering a new perspective that mentors shall take into careful consideration when supporting SMARTUP Master Students.
Mentors also had the opportunity to visit Digital Magics, the first digital incubator in Italy, quoted at AIM Italia, the Italian stock market Borsa Italiana, that is dedicated to small and medium size Italian enterprises. Alberto Fioravanti, Founder and Executive President of Digital Magics, presented the Mentors with his previous experiences, particularly focusing on his last initiative – The Startup University – dedicated to startups.
Finally, Mentors had the opportunity to visit Hangar Bicocca, a private not for profit Foundation committed to the promotion of contemporary art and young artists. During the visit the mentors met General Director Mr. Lonata, who discussed the purpose and goals of the Foundation.
After this long and intense week of training, Mentors are now ready to support the students enrolled in the SMARTUP Master! You can check their profile on our dedicated Mentors’ Page.
